Pass By: Panfilov Street Promenade Panfilov street is another gorgeous pedestrian street that will help you dive into a true Almaty sprite. While passing through, you will be introduced to a Soviet Era architecture masterpieces. Stop At: Abai's Theater (National Academical Theater of Opera and Ballet) Opera and Ballet Theater will be the ending point of your trip. DAY 03: CHARYN CANYON FULL DAY TOUR

We depart from Almaty to Baiseit village (140km), short stop for rest, fruits, water. Depart to Charyn canyon (60km). Stop At: Abay The Abay Square is one of the most beautiful squares of the city, and represents a central link of the large architectural ensemble constructed at the junction of Dostyk and Abay avenues. This composition also includes the buildings of the Republic Palace, the high-altitude Kazakhstan Hotel, the Arman cinema and a cable railway station linking the Abay Square with the Kok Tobe complex.

Stop At: Panfilov Street Promenade Also known as Arbat Market, this place is a wonderful place to visit. Similar to city squares in other countries, Arbat is actually a stretch of pedestrian street between Nazarbayeva and Ablai Khan, filled with artists, entertainers, shops, and supermarket. It also houses the TSUM shopping mall nearby. Panfilov street, which is perpendicular to Zhybek Zholy is also part of Arbat .

Stop At: Zhibek Zholy Almaty Metro is a rapid transit/metro system in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The metro compared to the London Underground, is spanking clean and beautiful with Marble floors and various forms of Artwork on the walls. With trains arriving every 10-15 mins, and the Temperature Below 20 degrees Celsius, this is definitely the way to travel during the summer, when outside air temperature is in the 30 degrees Celsius range.The metro system became the second metro in Central Asia, after the Tashkent Metro in Uzbekistan, the first one not considered a military installation, and the sixteenth metro in the former Soviet Union region. Stop At: Park Named After Panfilov’s 28 Guardsmen The Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen is located in east-central Almaty in the area surrounding the Zenkov Cathedral. It is dedicated to and named after the Panfilov heroes which were the 28 soldiers of an Almaty infantry unit who died while fighting against Germans outside of Moscow during the Great Patriotic War.

Stop At: Ascension Cathedral A distinctive architectural building of Zenkov Cathedral (Ascension Cathedral) is located in a green Panfilov Park of Almaty. The historical monument is one of the main sights of the city. Bishops of Turkestan and Tashkent were the initiators of the church construction in the early 19th century. The project was delegated to the best engineers and architects of the time: K.A. Borisoglebskiy, N.I. Stepanov, S.K.Troparevskiy and A.P. Zenkov. In 1903, the project was approved and the construction of the cathedral took place between 1904 and 1907. A.P. Zenkov had supervised the entire project.

Stop At: Museum of Folk Music Instruments named after Yihlasa The Kazakh Museum of Folk Musical Instruments is a musical instrument museum located in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Located in Panfilov Park, the wooden building was erected in 1908, simultaneously with Ascension Cathedral.

Stop At: Kok-Tobe Hill The ascent to the mountain Kok-Tobe, where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the evening city from a bird's flight (the ascent of the Funicular with a view of the city, 15-20 minutes). Kok-Tobe is a mountain in Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city. There is a popular recreation area on top of the mountain. The mountain's height is 1100 meters above sea level. Kok-Tobe is one of the main landmarks in the city, and it is popular among visitors of Almaty. The viewpoint from Kok-Tobe is well worth a visit with panoramic views of the city in all directions.
